I have been painting exclusively with watercolors for more than fifteen years, though my interest in painting began 25 years ago with oils and later with acrylics. My first experience with watercolor opened my mind to an entirely different approach to creating paintings. The sense of immediacy required, coupled with the luminosity of the paper, commands my attention more than any other medium. Mistakes are very difficult to correct and anything white on the painting must be painted around and left untouched. Meeting these requirements keep me grounded in the moment and continue to challenge and excite me with each new piece I create.

My primary interest lies in portraiture, although I paint any subject matter, if it captures my attention. My paintings and prints hang in private collections throughout the US, Mexico, and Italy.

I am a Signature Member of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, a member of the Portrait Society of America and am a juried member of the Arizona Watercolor Association. My work has been juried into several national shows and my awards range from "Awards of Merit" to "Best of Show". In addition, I am a juried member of the Arizona Art Alliance and my work can be purchased at their gallery.

My favorite painting is always the next one I am about to begin painting!
